Why should your septic system be treated?
Recent tests have shown that a non-treated septic system contains very lo levels of digestive bacteria. The use of common household chemicals such as bleaches, detergents solvents and disinfectants, etc. can weaken or kill the already low levels of bacteria in the system. When this happens the waste is no longer being digested and liquefied. The result is a build up of solids that plug the system and give off offensive odors and gases. Regular treatment helps keep the proper level of bacterial action established and reduces odors and gases.
